Seremoni Wobrwyo Ysbrydoli Rhagoriaeth Sgiliau yng Ngrŵp Llandrillo Menai

Enillodd dysgwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai 31 medal – mewn 17 categori gwahanol – yn seremoni flynyddol Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru'r wythnos diwethaf.

Cynhaliodd y Grŵp ddigwyddiad lloeren ar ei gampws yn Llangefni, ac yno gwobrwywyd y dysgwyr am eu doniau a'u gwaith caled y Prif Weithredwr, Dafydd Evans, a chynrychiolwyr o Ysbrydoli Rhagoriaeth Sgiliau oedd yn cyhoeddi'r canlyniadau mewn seremoni ar-lein.

Roedd cystadleuwyr o bob cwr o Gymru'n gwylio'r seremoni wobrwyo rithwir er mwyn cael clywed y canlyniadau. Eleni, er mwyn i deulu a ffrindiau allu ymuno'n fyw â'r cyffro, roedd y seremoni'r wobrwyo'n cael ei chynnal yn rhithwir mewn chwe digwyddiad lloeren mewn colegau ledled y wlad!

Enillodd dysgwyr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai 13 medal aur mewn gwahanol gategorïau: Cyfrifeg, plymio a gwresogi, roboteg ddiwydiannol, ail-orffennu cerbydau, weldio, her tîm gweithgynhyrchu a sgiliau cynhwysol gofal plant.

Eleni, cymerodd 91 dysgwr o Grŵp Llandrillo Menai ran yng nghystadlaethau Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru gan ennill 31 medal mewn 17 categori gwahanol.
O ganlyniad, daeth y Grŵp yn drydydd o blith holl golegau Cymru yn y tabl medalau.

Yn dilyn rownd arall o geisiadau, fe all yr enillwyr fynd ymlaen i gystadlu ar lefel genedlaethol a rhyngwladol yng nghystadlaethau WorldSkills UK, EuroSkills a WorldSkills.

Yn y digwyddiad lloeren yn Llangefni daeth dros 120 o bobl ynghyd i ddathlu llwyddiant y dysgwyr. Diddanodd myfyrwyr yr adran Technoleg Cerddoriaeth y dorf gyda cherddoriaeth acwstig byw tra oedd y gwahoddedigion yn mwynhau te pnawn mewn bocs.

Estynnodd Dafydd Evans ei longyfarchiadau i bawb a gymerodd ran gan ddweud bod safon y gystadleuaeth yn parhau i godi. Ychwanegodd: "Flwyddyn ar ôl blwyddyn mae ein myfyrwyr yn ymdrechu i wella, ac mae cystadlaethau Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru'n brawf o'r hyn y gallant ei gyflawni drwy waith caled a dyfalbarhad."

"Mae llwyddo ar y lefel hon, ac ennill medalau mewn meysydd mor amrywiol yn dangos i'r dim pa mor dalentog yw ein myfyrwyr. Roedd yn fraint wirioneddol cael bod yn rhan o Seremoni Gwobrau Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru."

Yr Aelod o Senedd Cymru, Rhun ap Iorwerth, oedd y gŵr gwadd yn Llangefni ac fe dalodd deyrnged i bawb oedd wedi cyfrannu am eu sgiliau a'u hymrwymiad i'r gystadleuaeth.

Wedi'i hariannu gan Lywodraeth Cymru a'i rhedeg gan rwydwaith ymroddedig o golegau, darparwyr dysgu seiliedig ar waith a sefydliadau a arweinir gan gyflogwyr, drwy'r prosiect Ysbrydoli Rhagoriaeth Sgiliau, mae Cystadleuaeth Sgiliau Cymru'n anelu at ysbrydoli a gwella sgiliau cenedlaethau 'r dyfodol drwy ddatblygu sgiliau galwedigaethol pobl ifanc a dathlu eu cyflawniadau.

Roedd y categorïau eraill yn cynnwys cerddoriaeth boblogaidd, gwaith saer, peirianneg fecanyddol CAD, electroneg ddiwydiannol, technoleg cerbydau ysgafn, melino CNC, iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol a gwasanaethau bwyty.

The college group hosted a ‘satellite watch’ party event at its Llangefni campus in Anglesey, where learners were rewarded for their talent and hard work by Grŵp Llandrillo Menai Chief Executive Dafydd Evans and representatives from Inspiring Skills Excellence, who announced the results via an online ceremony.

Competitors from across Wales excitedly tuned in to the virtual awards ceremony to hear the results. This year, the awards ceremony was held virtually, with six satellite events taking place at Welsh educational providers across the country, so that friends and families from all over Wales could share the excitement…live!

Among the successful cohort from Grŵp Llandrillo Menai were 13 gold medallists from several different category finals: accountancy, plumbing and heating, plastering, industrial robotics, vehicle refinishing, welding, manufacturing team challenge and inclusive skills in childcare.

This year, 91 learners from Grŵp Llandrillo Menai took part in a Skills Competition Wales competition across a range of sectors, winning 31 medals in 17 different categories. This impressive haul resulted in the college group taking third place in the overall medals table, out of all the colleges in Wales.

Subject to another round of applications, the finalists could go on to compete in the national and international competitions at WorldSkills UK, EuroSkills and WorldSkills international

At the Llangefni satellite event, over 120 people gathered to celebrate the learners’ achievements. Music Technology students entertained the crowd with live acoustic music whilst guests enjoyed their afternoon tea boxes.

Dafydd Evans congratulated all those who had taken part and said the standard of competition had continued to rise. He added: “Year-on-year our students strive for improvement, and Skills Competition Wales competitions are an example of how, with hard work and determination, they can achieve it.”

“To get to this level is a great achievement, and to win medals in such a broad range of areas shows just how skilled our students are. It was a true privilege to be involved in the Wales Skills Competition Awards Ceremony. The joy and pride clearly felt by the winners, their parents and tutors was inspiring".

Llangefni’s guest of honour was Rhun ap Iorwerth - MS Senedd Cymru, who paid tribute to all participants for their skills, dedication and commitment to the competition.

Funded by the Welsh Government and run by a dedicated network of colleges, work-based learning providers and employer-led organisations, through the Inspiring Skills Excellence in Wales project, Skills Competition Wales aims to inspire and upskill future generations by developing young people’s vocational skills while celebrating their achievements.

Other categories included popular music, carpentry, mechanical engineering CAD, industrial electronics, light vehicle technology, CNC milling, health and social care and restaurant services.
