Bydwragedd yn rhannu eu profiadau gyda myfyrwyr Iechyd a Gofal Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor
Yn ddiweddar daeth Ceris Wyn a Jemma Durant, ill dwy yn gweithio fel bydwragedd yn Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor, draw i Goleg Meirion-Dwyfor safle Pwllheli, i rannu eu profiadau am weithio yn y maes gyda myfyrwyr Iechyd a Gofal y coleg.
Daw Ceris Wyn y wreiddiol o Flaenau Ffestiniog, astudiodd Addysg oedran cynnar ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, cyn cychwyn ar gwrs bydwreigiaeth yn Mhrifysgol Manceinion.
Daeth Jemma Durant i’r maes ychydig yn hwyrach, bu’n astudio Trin Gwallt ac Harddwch yng Ngholeg Menai am ddwy flynedd, bu’n gweithio yn y maes am 10 mlynedd, cyn penderfynu dilyn trywydd newydd. Cafodd eu dewis fel un o allan o le i 31 yn unig ar gwrs bydwreigiaeth yn Mhrifysgol Bangor.
Dywedodd Kelly Kojs, darlithydd Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol, yng Ngholeg Meirion-Dwyfor Pwllheli.
“Mae cael pobol sydd yn gweithio yn y maes iechyd a gofal i ddod i’r coleg, ac i siarad gyda’n myfyrwyr yn hynod o bwysig i ni fel adra. Mae cynnig y math yma o gyfleoedd yn agor pob math o ddrysau a phosibiliadau newydd i’n myfyrwyr. Mae maes bydwreigiaeth yn un cystadleuol iawn, felly mae cael y cyfle i ddysgu am brofiadau dwy fel Cerys a Jemma sydd yn gweithio yn y maes yn hynod o bwysig i’n myfyrwyr sydd yn gobeithio dilyn yr un trywydd.”
Ychwanegoff Kelly Kojs.
“Rydym yn ddiolchgar iawn i Cerys a Jemma am ddod i ymweld a ni ni’r coleg, mae’r ddwy yn gweithio mewn swyddi prysur iawn, felly mae cael hyd i amser i ymweld a ni yn y coleg yn anodd tu hwnt. Diolch i chi am ddod, a diolch i chi am rannu eich arbenigedd gyda’n myfyrwyr, mae’r math yma o brofiadau yn rhai gwerthfawr iawn i’n myfyrwyr.”

Originally from Blaenau Ffestiniog, Ceris Wyn studied early-age education at Cardiff University before embarking on a midwifery course at Manchester University.
Jemma Durant came to the field a little later after a change in careers: she originally studied Hair and Beauty at Coleg Menai before working in the industry for 10 years. She then decided to take a new path in life, eventually gaining a place on the highly-contested midwifery course at Bangor University.
Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor Health and Social Care lecturer Kelly Kojs said: “Being able to get people who work in the health and care sector to come into college and talk to our students is very important to us as a department. Offering these kinds of opportunities opens up all kinds of doors and new possibilities for our students.
“The field of midwifery is very competitive, so getting the opportunity to share some of Ceris and Jemma’s knowledge and expertise was extremely important to our students who are hoping to follow the same path. We would like to thank them both for taking time out of their busy jobs to talk to our students.”
