YMWELIAD GWEINIDOGOL Â CHAMPWS COLEG MENAI YN LLANGEFNI

Dydd Gwener (23 Gorffennaf) ymwelodd Gillian Keegan, y Gweinidog dros Brentisiaethau a Sgiliau a Virginia Crosbie - AS Ynys Môn â Dafydd Evans, Prif Weithredwr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai ar gampws Coleg Menai yn Llangefni i wybod mwy am y Prentisiaethau gwych a gaiff eu cynnig yng Ngrŵp Llandrillo Menai.

Cafodd y Gweinidog a'r AS eu tywys o amgylch cyfleusterau a gweithdai yr adran Beirianneg yn y Ganolfan STEM a chawsant gyflwyniad byr ar y modd y cyflwynir Prentisiaethau yng Ngrŵp Llandrillo Menai.

Ymunodd dau o brentisiaethau presennol yr adran Beirianneg â hwy, Tomos Eames a Ryan Cain a rhannodd y ddau eu profiadau wrth astudio cwrs Prentisiaeth. Mae Ryan yn Brentis gyda Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr a Tom wrthi'n gwneud ei brentisiaeth gyda Siemens.

Dywedodd Dafydd Evans, Prif Weithredwr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai:

"Roedd yn anrhydedd cael y cyfle i ddangos ein cyfleusterau, ein dosbarthiadau a'n gweithdai gwych yma ar gampws Coleg Menai yn Llangefni i'r Gweinidog. Roedd yn gyfle i'r Gweinidog Keegan gael cipolwg ar y Prentisiaethau rydym yn eu cynnig yn ogystal â'r gefnogaeth ardderchog mae'r myfyrwyr yn ei gael wrth astudio yng Nghrŵp Llandrillo Menai".

Dywedodd Gillian Keegan, Y Gweinidog dros Brentisiaethau a Sgiliau,

"Mae crwydro i bob rhan o Brydain i wrando a chlywed am brofiadau busnesau a sut maen nhw'n ymdopi gyda'r pandemig a'u cynlluniau adfer yn rhan bwysig o fwy swydd.

Rwy'n falch iawn o weld sut mae diwydiannau twf allweddol ledled Ynys Môn, megis y diwydiannau modurol, morol, adeiladu a sectorau bwyd yn buddsoddi mewn talent newydd drwy gyflogi prentisiaid - ac mae wedi bod yn bleser cyfarfod rhai o'r bobl ifanc yma heddiw.

Hoffwn ddiolch i'r holl fusnesau a sefydliadau a ddaeth i gyfarfod â Virginia a mi heddiw. Mae cysylltiadau wedi'u creu a pherthnasau wedi'u sefydlu a nawr gallwn weithio gyda'n gilydd i alluogi Ynys Môn i ffynnu ymhellach".

Ychwanegodd Virginia Crosbie AS,

“Roedd yn fraint dod â’r Gweinidog Keegan i Goleg Menai. Mae Grŵp Llandrillo Menai yn gwneud cymaint ar Ynys Môn i hyfforddi ac addysgu ein pobl ifanc ac roedd hwn yn gyfle gwych i siarad â rhai o'u prentisiaid. Mae'n hanfodol bwysig bod llywodraeth y DU yn clywed yn uniongyrchol gan bobl Ynys Môn a dyma un ffordd y gallaf wneud i hynny ddigwydd. ”

The Minister and MP Crosbie were shown around the Engineering facilities and workshops in the Canolfan STEM, and were given a brief presentation on the Apprenticeship delivery at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.

They were joined by two current Electrical Engineering apprentices, Tomos Eames and Ryan Cain, who shared their experiences of studying an Apprenticeship. Ryan is an Apprentice with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, whilst Tomos is completing his Apprenticeship with Siemens.

Dafydd Evans, Chief Executive of Grŵp LlandrilloMenai, said,

“It was a great privilege to be able to show the Minister our fantastic facilities, classrooms and workshops here at Coleg Menai’s campus in Llangefni. Minister Keegan was able to gain an insight into the Apprenticeships we deliver, and the great support students receive whilst studying with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai”.

Minister for Apprenticeships and Skills, Gillian Keegan, said,

“Getting out to all corners of the UK to listen to and hear about the experiences of business and how they are coping with the pandemic and their recovery plans is an important part of my job.

I am delighted to see how key, growing industries across Anglesey, like the automotive, marine, construction and food sectors, are investing in future talent by employing apprentices, and it has been brilliant to meet some of these young people today.

I would like to thank all of the businesses and organisations that took the time to meet with myself and Virginia. Contact has been made and relationships have started and action can now be taken to work together to allow Anglesey to prosper further.”

Virginia Crosbie MP, added,

“It was a privilege to bring Minister Keegan to Coleg Menai. Grwp Llandrillo Menai does so much on Anglesey to train and educate our young people and this was a great opportunity to speak with some of their apprentices. It is vitally important the UK government hears first hand from the people of Anglesey and this is just one way in which I can make that happen.”
