Nikole i Gynrychioli Prydain Mewn Pencampwriaeth Codi Pwysau!
Mae myfyriwr o Goleg Menai wedi cael ei dewis i gynrychioli Prydain mewn pencampwriaeth codi pwysau yn Saudi Arabia yn ddiweddarach eleni.
Bydd Nikole Roberts, sy'n dilyn cwrs Chwaraeon (Antur Awyr Agored) Lefel 3 yng Ngholeg Menai, yn teithio i Saudi Arabia fis Hydref i gystadlu yn y categori 49Kg.
Mae Nikole wedi bod yn codi pwysau ers tair blynedd, mae hi'n hyfforddi pum gwaith yr wythnos yn 'Bangor Barbell' ac yn cynnal sesiynau hyfforddi codi pwysau ei hun o'r enw Elevate Weightlifting.
Mae hi eisoes wedi ennill teitl Pencampwr Cymry a Phencampwr Prydain ac mae hi'n gobeithio ennill medal ym Mhencampwriaethau'r Byd fis nesaf.
Dywedodd Andy Collins tiwtor Nikole,
"Mae hi wedi bod yn wych i ni gael cyfle i gefnogi Nikole wrth iddi ddatblygu ei sgiliau a chryfhau. Rydym yn ei chefnogi cant y cant ac yn edrych ymlaen yn eiddgar at weld beth fydd hi'n ei gyflawni nesaf ym Mhencampwriaethau’r Byd.
Meddai Nikole,
"Rydw i'n edrych ymlaen yn eiddgar at gael cystadlu mewn digwyddiad mor fawr! Dw i wedi bod yn hyfforddi mor galed, dw i wir yn edrych ymlaen. Dw i'n ddiolchgar iawn i diwtoriaid Coleg Menai, maen nhw mor barod i'ch cefnogi a'ch annog".
Nikole Roberts, who studies Sport (Outdoor Education) Level 3 at Coleg Menai, will head to Saudi Arabia in October to compete in the Under 49 Kg Category.
Nikole has been weightlifting for around three years, and trains five times a week at ‘Bangor Barbell’, where she also holds her own weightlifting coaching sessions called Elevate Weightlifting.
She has already been crowned Welsh and British Champion, and hopes to bring back a medal at the World Championships next month.

“It’s been fantastic supporting Nikole and watching her skills and strength develop. We are all rooting for her, and can’t wait to see what she achieves at the World Championships!”
Nikole said,
“I’m really excited to be competing at such a big event! I’ve been training hard and can’t wait to get there. I’m grateful to the tutors at Coleg Menai who have been so supportive and encouraging”.
