The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol is delighted to announce that they are extending the Initiative Scholarships scheme for those students starting at University in September 2021
The Initiative Scholarship is a £500 a year scholarship.
It will be offered to ALL students who commit to studying 40 credits in Welsh in a university in Wales – in whichever subject they wish to study.
Remember, the course that every student hopes to study must be on the Coleg Cymraeg website when looking through the 'course finder'.
More specifically to students who will start their degree course this year with Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, the courses below are eligible of the Scholarship –
- BA / FdA Business Management (Dolgellau)
- BA / FdA Health and Social Care (CMD)
- FdSc Sports Science (Outdoor Activities) (CMD)
- BSc / FdSc Sports Science (Sports Coaching) (CLl)

Yn ddiweddar, dathlodd grŵp o brentisiaid o REHAU Ltd eu bod wedi cwblhau eu Prentisiaeth mewn Gweithrediadau Prosesu Polymer yng Nghanolfan CIST, Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, gan lwyddo i oresgyn yr heriau a achoswyd gan Covid-19.
Mae Swyddogion Cangen Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, sef Sara Davies a Nia Lewis, yn recriwtio Llysgenhadon Dysgwyr! Dyma gyfle i fyfyrwyr Addysg Bellach y Grŵp fod yn rhan o brosiect cenedlaethol cyffrous sydd wedi’i sefydlu gan y Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
Grŵp Llandrillo Menai Branch Officers, Sara Davies and Nia Lewis, are recruiting Student Ambassadors! This is an opportunity for the Group's Further Education students to be part of an exciting national project set up by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
What are Student Ambassadors?
Students across Grŵp Llandrillo Menai who has the enthusiasm to promote the opportunities available to use Welsh in the College.
We are looking for students who are eager to:
- inspire their fellow students of the social and educational advantages of the Welsh language.
- create blogs and vlogs and make effective use of our Instagram account.
- organize and participate in projects and events celebrating Welsh festivals, e.g. Welsh Language Music Day, St David's Day and much more!
- collaborate with other ambassadors across Wales.
Also, in return for their work, each Ambassador will receive £100 for the year and £9 per hour for any additional duties.
We are looking for 5 Ambassadors across the Group, one of whom, will hopefully be studying either Health and Care, Childcare or Public Services…but that’s not essential!
For the role, each student does NOT have to be a fluent Welsh speaker; but has a positive attitude and enthusiasm towards the language!

Rhyl College’s two much-loved receptionists - who started their roles within a week of each other nearly 20 years ago - bade a fond farewell to staff and students alike recently, before moving on to pastures new.
