Partneriaeth rhwng Grŵp Llandrillo Menai a Chyngor Sir Ynys Môn yn Torri Tir Newydd yng Nghymru

Ar gampws Llangefni, Coleg Menai ddechrau'r wythnos hon (dydd Llun 30 Ionawr), cafodd y cytundeb ei lofnodi ar y cyd gan y Cynghorydd Llinos Medi, Arweinydd Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn a Dr Griff Jones, Cadeirydd Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.

Mewn adduned i hyrwyddo a chefnogi ymhellach ddatblygiad sgiliau a chyfleoedd cyflogaeth i bobl o bob oed ar Ynys Môn a ledled Gogledd Cymru, bydd cydweithio yn y dyfodol yn canolbwyntio ar dri phrif faes: Hyrwyddo Addysg a Sgiliau ar Ynys Môn ac yng Ngogledd Cymru; Datblygiad Economaidd yr Ynys; a Chydweithio fel Partneriaid Corfforaethol.

Bydd y Memorandwm yn hybu'r bartneriaeth hirsefydlog rhwng y sefydliadau sydd wedi gweld campws Llangefni'n datblygu'n adnodd a ystyrir y gorau yn y sector. Elfen bwysig arall o'r cytundeb yw rhoi cyfle i nifer o fyfyrwyr Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol Grŵp Llandrillo Menai gael profiad gwaith gydag adran Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol yr Awdurdod Lleol ac ymuno â chynlluniau mentora.

Yn ogystal, ym mis Tachwedd 2022 lansiwyd prosiect yr Academi Ddigidol Werdd ar y cyd â'r Cyngor Sir a chydag arian gan Gronfa Adfywio Cymunedol Llywodraeth y DU. Hyd yma mae'r prosiect wedi cynorthwyo 25 o fusnesau i leihau eu costau ynni, i fod yn fwy cystadleuol ac i hyrwyddo eu hunain fel busnesau gwyrdd.

Y gobaith yw y bydd y prosiect yn cyfrannu ymhellach at genhadaeth Grŵp Llandrillo Menai o 'Wella Dyfodol Pobl' yn ogystal â nod y Cyngor o weithio tuag at Ynys Môn sy'n iach, ffyniannus a llewyrchus.

Meddai Dafydd Evans, Prif Weithredwr Grŵp Llandrillo Menai,

"Dyma gam mawr arall ymlaen yn ein perthynas â Chyngor Sir Ynys Môn.

⁠"Un o'n themâu strategol fel sefydliad yw cael lle amlwg yn y gymuned ac mae'r Memorandwm hwn yn cadarnhau'n ffurfiol ein perthynas gyda'r Awdurdod Lleol. "

Ychwanegodd, "Rydym yn gobeithio gweld sawl cynllun cyffrous yn deillio o'r bartneriaeth hon."

Aeth Dylan J Williams, Prif Weithredwr Cyngor Sir Ynys Môn ymlaen i ymhelaethu,

"Un o'n prif flaenoriaethau yw rhoi i bobl ifanc yr addysg, y sgiliau a'r cyfleoedd gyrfa a fydd yn eu galluogi i fyw a gweithio yn eu cymunedau lleol.

"Ar ôl clywed y newyddion trist am y swyddi fydd yn cael eu colli os bydd ffatri 2 Sisters yn Llangefni'n cau mae cyflawni hyn bellach yn bwysicach nag erioed.

"Bydd y Memorandwm Cyd-ddealltwriaeth newydd rhwng y Cyngor Sir, cyflogwr mwyaf Ynys Môn, a Grŵp Llandrillo Menai yn caniatáu i ni weithio ar lefel strategol ac i ddod gyda'n gilydd yn fwy cynhyrchiol ac effeithiol.

"Byddwn yn parhau i adeiladu ar ein perthynas gadarnhaol er mwyn gwneud yn siŵr fod ein pobl ifanc yn cyrraedd eu llawn botensial. ⁠Bydd rhagor o gydweithio gyda'r coleg hefyd yn sicrhau bod trigolion lleol yn gallu manteisio ar y cyfleoedd gwaith lleol a gynigir gan y Cyngor Sir a chan gyflogwyr eraill."

Y DIWEDD

Earlier this week, (Monday, January 30th), both the Leader of Isle of Anglesey County Council, Councillor Llinos Medi and the Chair of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, Dr Griff Jones, signed the collaboration agreement at the Grŵp’s Coleg Menai campus in Llangefni.

In a pledge to further promote and support the development of skills and employment opportunities for people of all ages in Ynys Môn, future cooperation will be focused on three main areas, including; Promotion of Education and Skills in Ynys Môn and in North Wales, Economic development of the island, and working together as Corporate Partners.

The MOU will facilitate the already long standing partnership between the organisations, which has seen the Llangefni Campus develop into a sector leading resource. Another key initiative includes supporting a number of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s Health and Social Care students to carry out work placements and Mentorship schemes within the Social Services department at the Local Authority.

In addition, The Green Digital Academy project - funded by the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund in partnership with the County Council - was launched in November 2022 and has supported over 25 businesses to reduce their energy costs, gain a competitive edge and boost their reputation as a green business.

The partnership is hoped to further support Grŵp Llandrillo Menai’s mission to ‘Improve People’s Futures’, as well as the Council’s aim to work towards an Anglesey that is healthy, thriving and prosperous.

Dafydd Evans, Chief Executive of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, said,

“This is another significant step forward in our relationship with Isle of Anglesey County Council.

“One of our strategic themes as an organisation is to embed our place in the community and this MOU formally cements our relationship with the Local Authority.

He added, “We hope to see several exciting initiatives emanate from this partnership.”

Isle of Anglesey County Council’s Chief Executive, Dylan J Williams, added,

“One of our key priorities is to provide young people with the education, skills and career opportunities that will allow them to live and work in their local communities.

“Achieving this is now more important than ever, given the devastating news about potential job losses at the Two Sisters poultry plant in Llangefni.

“This new Memorandum of Understanding between the County Council, as the Island’s largest employer, and Grŵp Llandrillo Menai will allow us to work on a strategic level; and together become more productive and effective.

“We will continue to build on an already longstanding and positive relationship to ensure our young people can reach their full potential. Greater collaboration with the college will also ensure residents can benefit from local employment opportunities, offered by the County Council, and other employers.”
