Fel myfyriwr Lefel 2 Chwaraeon a Pherfformiad a Rhagoriaeth Chwaraeon Lefel 3 yng Ngholeg Llandrillo rhwng 2014 a 2018, roedd Sam yn aelod o garfan Rygbi Academi’r coleg - ac yn fuan wedyn ymunodd â thîm hŷn RGC yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru.
Wrth astudio yng Ngholeg Llandrillo, cafodd Sam hefyd ei alw i garfan tîm dan 20 Cymru ar gyfer twrnamaint y Chwe Gwlad yn 2018.

Eglurodd Sam,
"Mi wnaeth y coleg fuddsoddi llawer o amser yn fy helpu i ddatblygu'n academaidd ac ar y maes rygbi, gan ofalu mod i'n rhoi'r un sylw i'm gwaith astudio a'm huchelgais ym myd chwaraeon.
"Gwnaeth astudio yng Ngholeg Llandrillo ganiatáu i mi chwarae rygbi o safon uchel bob wythnos. Yn ychwanegol i’r arweiniad a'r hyfforddiant gwych a ges i, dyma oedd y lle gorau i mi ddatblygu a chyrraedd fy nhargedau."
Meddai Andrew Williams, Cydlynydd Academi Rygbi Coleg Llandrillo: "Mae'r hyn y mae Sam wedi'i gyflawni yn rhyfeddol. Mae’n braf iawn gweld cyn-fyfyriwr ein hacademi'n llwyddo ac yn perfformio mor dda ar y llwyfan rhyngwladol.
Ychwanegodd:
"Gweithiodd Sam yn galed iawn i wireddu ei nod o chwarae dros Gymru. Roedd ei weld yn canu'r anthem genedlaethol ac yn gwisgo ei grys coch gyda balchder yn arbennig. Rydym yn falch dros ben o'i lwyddiannau fel coleg ac academi rygbi ac yn edrych ymlaen at weld beth fydd yn ei wneud yn y dyfodol."
